Ommar

Privacy policy

Who we are

Ommar is a white-label technology provider that lets institutions and charities create and run their own platforms for managing mosques, campaigns, donors and volunteers.

This policy covers this marketing website only. Data processed inside the platforms that institutions run on Ommar is covered by the dedicated section below.

What we collect

Contact form: when you send us a message we collect your full name, organisation or mosque name, email address, phone number and the content of your message. Those fields are all we ask for, and we collect nothing else from the form.

Analytics: if you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to measure site performance — which pages are visited, where visits come from, and device type. If you decline, no analytics is loaded at all.

Technical logs: our hosting keeps short-lived operational logs including IP address, for security and abuse prevention.

How we use your data

Contact form data is used only to answer and follow up on your enquiry. We do not use it to send marketing you did not ask for.

Analytics data is used to understand how the site performs and to improve its content.

We do not sell or rent your data to third parties under any circumstances.

Cookies

This site uses no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Analytics cookies are set only after you give explicit consent through the notice at the bottom of the page, and you can decline at any time. Your choice is stored locally in your browser.

Sharing with service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the site:

Hosting and content delivery: Cloudflare.

Site analytics: Google Analytics — only after your consent.

Enquiry handling: contact form messages are forwarded to our customer management system so the team can follow up.

Each provider receives only the minimum data needed to perform its function.

Data on institution platforms

This distinction matters: Ommar does not collect or handle donations directly. All fundraising is carried out by the institutions themselves through their own platforms.

Accordingly, donor and volunteer data remains the property of the institution that owns the platform, and that institution determines the purposes of processing. Ommar acts as a technical processor on the institution’s behalf and under its instructions.

If you are a donor or volunteer and wish to exercise your rights over your data, the institution you gave to or volunteered with is the responsible party.

Data retention

We keep contact messages for as long as needed to answer your enquiry and maintain the relationship, then delete them once they are no longer needed.

Technical logs are deleted automatically after a short period.

Security

The entire site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to contact messages is limited to team members who need them in order to reply.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, or withdraw analytics consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, email hello@ommar.net and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or legal requirements change. The current version is always published on this page with its last-updated date.
